The cutting process commonly used in lightweight structures

Ultrasonic cutting technology commonly used in lightweight structures: Nowadays, many industries regard weight reduction as an innovative driving force. Mainly including automotive technology, aerospace technology, and medical technology. Ultrasonic cutting provides a favorable prerequisite for the processing of materials that are increasingly used in lightweight structures.

Nowadays, effective cutting of different materials, such as fiberglass or carbon fiber fabrics, foam materials, leather, synthetic leather, rubber, cardboard, or paper, can be achieved through replaceable blades.

The frequency of ultrasonic waves exceeds the hearing threshold, about 20kHz or more. The frequency used for cutting is within the range of 20 kHz to 30 kHz. Ultrasonic waves are generated by a piezoelectric transducer that vibrates the blade at high frequencies, resulting in extremely strong resonance effects and requiring relatively low power. Therefore, when the environmental heat load is low, the cut slices are very clean. There is no need to worry about the product sticking to the blade at all. In addition, this process also has other advantages, making it particularly suitable for cutting materials used in lightweight structures. Compared with mechanical milling, ultrasonic cutting does not produce any material loss. No debris; The cutting edge is smooth and clean, so there is no need for trimming.

There is no need to use cutting media when performing water flow cutting and other operations. The cut material will also be kept dry and tidy. The cutting depth can be adjusted arbitrarily, and in addition, the noise of ultrasonic cutting is also low. No noise protection measures need to be taken. In addition, unlike laser cutting, the surface of the cut material cannot meet special quality evaluation standards; Will not form charred cutting edges or combustion gases. Due to its extremely low procurement and operating costs compared to other processes, ultrasonic cutting has become a practical process required for many lightweight structural applications.
